I have only recently discovered and become addicted to the persuit of angling. In Florida there are numerous great places to catch fish, and you don't even need a boat! I really enjoy the salt water fishing, since you can hook up with some really large specimens. Tallahassee is only 20 minutes from the coast where I can catch a wide variety of both food and game fish. We have the mighty Red Drums which put up quite a fight. We have the Spotted Seatrout, which are very good eating. We also tangle with spanish mackerel, flounder, jack crevalle, cobia, and many more. If you have a boat, then you are within striking distance of species like Grouper and some of the big game fish like Tarpon. If you know where to fish you can catch fish year round here, but the action does drop off from December through April. Even if fishing here in the winter is scarce, I am only a short drive from fishing in Tampa. As an artist I like to paint my own trophies, and this is where you can help me by sending your pictures via e-mail to esapronetti@hotmail.com.
